David E. Stern, MD, CPC

CEO

Dr. Stern helped design the patented Practice Velocity template (PiVoT) that is now used in over 600 urgent care centers. He is board certified in internal medicine and served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Stern received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University after completing undergraduate studies at Houghton College in Houghton, NY. Dr. Stern serves on the Board of Directors of the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA). A Certified Professional Coder, Dr. Stern writes articles and presents at numerous national and regional conferences on topics, including medical charting, emr, medical coding and medical practice management. With additional partners of John Koehler, MD (CEO) and Terry Buzzard, MD (Regional Medical Director), they operate the urgent care consulting firm of National Med Network and the ten clinics (in Illinois and Oklahoma) of Physicians Immediate Care.

John J. Koehler, MD, FACEP

Dr. Koehler is founder and CEO of Physicians Immediate Care, the largest provider of urgent care and occupational medicine in Northern Illinois. It was at Physicians Immediate Care where the concept of Practice Velocity was first developed and tested. Dr. Koehler is board certified in occupational medicine. He completed residency in occupational medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, CA, and for Emergency Medicine at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Koehler received his medical degree from Penn State University after earning his undergraduate degree at Wheaton College. Dr. Koehler is also a Certified Medical Review Officer.  Dr. Koehler is National Conference Director for the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA).

Terry Buzzard, MD, FACFP

Dr. Buzzard also serves on the Board of Physicians Immediate Care where he personally beta-tests many of the templates that eventually are released for general use by physicians using Practice Velocity. Board certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Buzzard completed residency training at the University of Illinois, Department of Family Medicine. He earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois after graduating from Wheaton College. He earned advanced certification in Occupational Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, CA and is certified as a medical review officer.
