Machesney Park, Ill. (July 14, 2015) – Practice Velocity®, LLC, was one of five Illinois companies to receive an Economic Development in Illinois (Edie) Award Tuesday, July 14, 2015, in recognition of job growth in Illinois communities. The awards were presented by the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and Illinois Economic Development Association (IEDA) at the Illinois Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting in Chicago.

“It is an honor to be recognized for our pursuit of economic development,” said David Stern, MD, CEO of Practice Velocity, an urgent care software and services company in Machesney Park. “We remain committed to building jobs in the northern Illinois area.”

Practice Velocity was recognized for organically creating jobs and growing its workforce, ultimately leading to the expansion of its corporate headquarters in Machesney Park. The company moved in to its new state-of-the-art facility in fall 2014, revitalizing a former retail space and bringing the economic benefits of its team to nearby businesses.

Nominated by the Rockford Area Economic Development Council (RAEDC) and the Village of Machesney Park, Practice Velocity was named a winner in the technology category for economic growth in Illinois.

“Practice Velocity has emerged as an economic engine for Machesney Park, thanks to years of growth, planning and renovating,” said Mike Nicholas, President, Rockford Area Economic Development Council. “We are proud to see recognition for this progressive technology company.”

The Illinois Chamber of Commerce and IEDA teamed up for the 7th annual Edie Awards, recognizing continued leadership and interest in economic development in Illinois in 2014. The Edie Awards showcase local businesses that invest in and build jobs throughout Illinois communities.
