About Your Urgent Care Center

10. I learned a lot from your lectures and comments. I would like to ask you to send me a spreadsheet fee analysis and sample cost savings sheet. I have been an Internist in outpatient group practice in Pennsylvania for ten years, and I also have long time experience working in an ER as a part time job. I am thinking about opening an urgent care center in our area; it would not be related to our group practice. I would manage the practice and help with some hours. Would you please tell me:

  • Do I need to negotiate new contracts with insurance companies for the UCC?
  • Do I need new credentials with these insurance companies if I already have that from my current practice?
  • Can you name a few companies for software for the UCC?

My assistant will send you the requested documents.

  • If you are seeing patients in a new company with a new TIN, then you will need new contracts.
  • If you have a new practice with a new TIN, then credentialing will start from scratch.
  • I work with Practice Velocity, a company that provides urgent care software solutions for over 750 urgent care centers in 49 states. When you get closer to opening, we would be happy to demo the software online. As you know, we operate twelve urgent care centers in Illinois and Oklahoma. We also give tours of our centers and offices on a regular basis. Since we are so easy to access (only one hour from Chicago O’Hare Airport), over 300 people took advantage of full-day tours of our centers last year. If you would like to visit, give us a call and set up a tour.
