Questions for Dr. Stern

About Your Urgent Care Center

41. Was wondering if this would be a good place to startup urgent care 1) Growing retail area with lots of new houses 2) Urgent cares, 4 in town next to this(about 5 miles away) plus hospital...none in this town waits in hospital urgent care are long 3) McDonalds, lots in town, more going in down the street plus a Carls Jr nearby 4) Population of town is 50,000 5) Lots of industrial growth in area for occupational medicine 6) Lots of physicians in this area
7) Location has superb signage

Thanks for your question. Initial response would be that 4 urgent care centers per 50,000 people means that the community is already well served for urgent care services. However, there are other variables to be considered:

  • Population of surrounding catchment area
  • Number of primary care physicians in town
  • Occ Med providers & industry base
  • Etc.

I would be happy to discuss these issues with you. Please feel free to call (888-357-4209) and set up a phone call with my assistant.
