Questions for Dr. Stern

About Your Urgent Care Center

50.  I am looking for a set of pre-printed patient discharge instructions. i understand there are many computer driven programs, but I am looking for a printed set for an urgent care center. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am unaware of specific instructions for urgent care patients. This may be a project that a UCAOA committee may want to look into. In our urgent care centers, we have used the AAFP handouts (currently out of print) and Griffith's Instructions for Patients. (Purchase at http://www.us.elsevierhealth.com/product.jsp?isbn=1416000364) Both come with a CD and book, which you are given rights to photocopy pages for patients. We photocopy the multiple copies of the ones we actually use and put them in file folders. I hope this answers your question. Please contact us with any other questions.
